Test
Sorry about that. I'm late posting about my test. I thought I made 80 but I must have calculated wrong. I made 82! Then I had a math quiz and I made 100 on that. Pretty good since I had to take every test 2-3 times in developmental algebra. And most of this was algebra, in a way. But it was medical stuff and I've used it forever. Anyhow, just 6 more weeks to go. I thought it was a 10 week course, but it's only 8. I'm working on my OB packet now, then a community assessment packet (me and 2 other girls assessing carson newman college as a community). And that has what to do with nursing? Then I have to go to a 12 step meeting for alcoholics or narcotics. That should be fun! LOL I don't even drink. Oh well, I'm off from school today but am getting ready to go to work. So I'll go and quit boring you with my school stuff. Have a blessed day!

Happiness Feels So Good!
I took my first semi-big test today. It is called a HESI test, an outside company that administers tests to see how well you do on a national average. There were 55 questions and you were supposed to make at least 850 points on it. (I don't know how they average the points.) I made 1,016! Now I don't feel so dumb. I felt kind of stupid because most of the girls in my class haven't been LPN's that long and they still remember alot of the stuff from school. I've been out of school over 24 years and I still made a high score. I have a BIG (not semi-big) test tomorrow. I hope I do as well on that as I did on this one. Maybe all this studying will pay off in the long run. In fact, I know it will. I'm just so happy that I wanted to share my happiness with everyone! (About time, huh?) Anyway, I'll post again tomorrow on my big test. Love you all!! Especially Mary, Bucky, Sandy, Robert, and Lillian. Because I think you are the only ones who read my blogs. LOL

I WILL GRADUATE!!
Well, I made it through week #1 of 10. I have my first big exam on Wednesday. It covers the 6 chapters I just skimmed through. So I thought I would read them this weekend. Right? WRONG! I know Billy and Shelly were coming up. That was fine. But what I didn't know was that Bambi had to go to work at 4:30 and her daddy would be bringing her home at 6:00. I just love it when people tell me stuff. I have just about had it with her. I asked her if Rebecca could spend every other Sat night with me when she wasn't with her dad. She asked if Nic could come too. I said no because I would be working on that particular Sat night and that Doug couldn't handle them both. So needless to say, if she can't unload them both on me, she won't let her come. I am still so frustrated. I speak to Jeff now but I am not overly friendly. Doug said that he can't stand Jeff and can barely stand Bambi. I worked my ass off before to finally get him to talk to Jeff. It ain't happening this time. If he wants to speak, fine. If he doesn't, that's fine too. I'm not worried about it anymore. But I'm gonna make it through school regardless of what happnens. I'M GONNA DO IT!!! I just want everybody to know, especially the ones involved, that nothing is going to stand in my way. NOT EVEN YOU!!

Day #2
Today wasn't as bad as yesterday, but it was close. I was so sleepy in class I couldn't hardly hold my eyes open. I'm definitely not a morning person. I have lab tomorrow after a math quiz. I think I'll do fine on the math. I'm pretty good at that. It's all this other stuff I'm having problems with. We have to learn to write "care plans". Those are already in the computer at work and all we have to do is click on them. The teacher said to forget everything about how we do things at work, that we now work at the "Eutopia Garden of Eden" hospital where everything has to be perfect. Wouldn't that be nice? Never have a shortage of nurses, a doctor on the floor all the time, never run out of supplies and have all the meds at our fingertips. Oh well, we all know that will never happen. But all in all, it's been a pretty good day. Hope everyone has a wonderful day every day! I love you all!

1st day of School
Well, today was my first day at school at Walter's State. All I have to say is..."AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why am I doing this to myself??? I had my first quiz today and didn't do so hot on it. I scored 730 out of 1,000. Which is a 73, which ain't passing. Lowest passing grade is a 75. But she said this quiz doesn't count toward our grade. THANK GOD!! When I came home, I had 144 pages in a textbook to read. Didn't think I'd ever get done with that! Somebody please tell me it's all worth it. I know if some people I know could make it through it, I can. I'm gonna keep on pushing. I'll get there. Just won't have a family life for a year. Anyway, thought I'd let you know how it went. I'm going to bed! Maybe more next time.

Theresa's Graduation
A friend of mine, Theresa Gregg, graduated tonight from Tennessee Wesleyan College (hope I spelled it right). She graduated from the nursing program. Seems like it was just yesterday we were so nervous about doing our story in sign language for our ASL class. We had some good times that semester. Here is Theresa being recognized by one of the speakers:

Here she is getting her pin:

And again:

I think this is her mom. If I'm wrong, I'll correct it later.

Anyway, Theresa will be working as an RN at Parkwest Hospital doing what she does best, caring for others. She's a great person and I'd let her take care of me any day! Congratulations, Theresa!

Ruby Tuesday's
I finally got to see my friends, Mary, Bucky, Sandy, Robert and the kids. I got to see Bucky's mom again and got to meet his maternal grandparents. I hadn't seen Doris since the house dedication, then I didn't get to talk to her much because things were really hectic that day. But Friday was Bucky's graduation from Pellissippi State and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. They were there which made it even nicer, to finally get time to carry on conversations with people I hardly ever see. We all met at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner before going to the graduation which was held at the Thompson Boling Arena. You know me, I had to take my camera with me. Here is Bucky when he first walked in the restaurant:

My wonderful friends, Bucky and Mary:

And my other wonderful friends, Robert and Sandy:

I think Tori gets prettier every day. Watch out boys, she'll be a heartbreaker:

Ryan really enjoyed his macaroni:

Justin being Justin (he said me and Doug are 2 of the coolest "old" people he knows):

Bucky's mom:

Doris and her mom:

Doug and Bucky's grand dad:

Everybody except me (I was behind the camera):

And the man of the day! Doesn't he look handsome?

Grandbabies
I don't think I've posted the most recent pictures of my grandkids. I don't have a real new one of Nicholas, but I'll put one on that I don't think is on a previous blog. Anyway, this is Rebecca's picture that was made at school:

This is Billy's school picture. If you notice, it has the same background as Rebecca's:

This is the ever photogenic Shelly, when she doesn't have bruises from her brother:

This is Nicholas playing with my computer, listening to Jimmy Buffet sing "Jolly Mon Sing". He loves that song"

Each Day Gets Better
Well, it's been a week now. I haven't told this person that I love them in a week. But the problem is, I do. I would die for them. Not for the 2nd party, but for the first one. I'm still angry, but it's not as bad as it was. I've been praying that I will have peace and a forgiving heart. My pastor said that I need to just let it go and let God handle it. I'm trying, I really am. That's easier said than done. For all involved (except me), it would be best if I just acted like none of this ever happened. I just need to program myself to quit being selfish and put others ahead of me. But then, that's what got me in this mess to start with. I will never again do the things I have done in the past to help this person. That is one thing I CAN do even if I do make amends. I think it would be very rude of this person to ask me to do anything to help again, after this. Just pray that I will listen for God's voice to tell me what to do. I'm sure it won't be what I want to hear, but oh well... When He tells us to do something, we'd better do it. I think He's giving me some time to stew about it right now. He knows I need to get my anger out.
Tomorrow is Bucky's graduation!! I can't wait! I haven't seen any of the family in so long! I feel it is such an honor to be included in their circle of friends. I'm taking my camera so maybe I can get some good pictures. Til next time...Bye!

About Me
- Vicki
- I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
